Before diving into each of the place settings, I want to be clear ~ these are simple place settings. I didn’t add silverware, glassware, or decorative items. I want you to feel they are attainable. My goal wasn’t to blow you away with amazing place settings that you don’t feel you can replicate.
I want you to feel you, too, can easily create these place settings.
They’re to provide inspiration. For you to see how versatile a simple white dinner plate is in a place setting.
That a white dinner plate can be the core of your dishware.
1. Natural place setting with a white dinner plate
To create a natural looking place setting, start with a beautiful rattan placemat. Then add your white dinner place and a salad plate.
Next slip a soft, airy linen fringe napkin through the easiest DIY napkin ring.
2. Mixed pattern place setting
Your white dinner plate is the perfect backdrop to a mixed pattern place setting.
Start with a plaid placemat and add your dinner and salad plate.
Then select a napkin with a different print, but with colors that compliment the placemat. Also, choose a napkin ring with a pattern.
Now fold the napkin into a square, then take two opposite corners and fold them in to create a point. slide the point through your napkin ring about a third of the way down. Then fold the point behind the napkin ring, and fan out the bottom of the napkin.
Doesn’t it look like a pretty dress!

Pick a soft colored charger plate, like my teal one, and add your white dinner plate. For the napkin, I opted to use one of my diy no-sew napkins and slid it through my diy paper napkin ring.

Adding a napkin with a checkerboard pattern, in a matching color really gives it that farmhouse style.

Start with a fabulous placemat, like the one below, with incredible hemstitch detail. Then add your white plates, and place a matching napkin, folded, next to the plates.
I just love the classic beauty of this place setting.

You probably didn’t realize how good a white plate looks in a colorful place setting.
Just start with a bold, colorful patterned placemat and add your white plates. Then pick a bold colored napkin that matches your placemat.
Grab a napkin ring with the same colors as your placemat and slide it onto your napkin. Wrap the ends of your napkin under the salad plate.
*My napkin ring is a piece of ribbon from Joann’s that I cut and attached the ends. Doesn’t it match perfectly!
